One World Trek is a teacher travel program that brings teachers into the heart of Mexican culture, to Merida.
In this language and cultural immersion, teachers will take conversation Spanish classes in the mornings, and participate in excursions to local sights in the afternoons with local guides.
Our trips are open to all nationalities of K-12 and university educators, administrators, retired educators, as well as educators’ guests. Our specialized tours focus on rich, authentic experiences and cuisine with the goal of bringing culture into the classroom.
About Merida
As the vibrant capital of the Yucatán, Merida showcases the richness of both Spanish and Mayan culture. Visitors enjoy stunning 16th century architecture throughout the walkable and colorful downtown area. As a popular destination for Mexican tourists, the city holds different festivals, folkloric dances, and music events nightly. The regional gastronomy is like no other Mexican state, with local ingredients that are fresh and unique. Outside the city, Spanish haciendas, secret cenotes, and thousands of Mayan ruins wait to be explored.
